Cake Boy owner hosts a dinner party

Hello again.
Another week has come and gone, and the start of summer is just around the corner so there’s lots to look forward to.
Eric Lanlard, Master Patisserie and twice winner of the prestigious Continental Patisserie of the Year award has changed the face of British Patisserie.
Through his bespoke cake making brand, Savoir Design, he has earned himself an international reputation for superlative cakes boasting an A-list clientele including Madonna, Sir Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, Claudia Schiffer and George Michael.
Eric’s business, Cake Boy, is situated in the luxury Battersea Reach riverside development in south west London. It’s a coffee lounge with a difference – more like a sumptuous boutique with decadent chandeliers and sumptuous upholstered leather armchairs in jewel colours.
When I’m not at Starbucks you should be able to find me at Cake Boy. I was very lucky to have had my 30th birthday at Cake Boy, and was also asked to cook for his staff Christmas party.
Eric was hosting a dinner party at his lovely home in Wandsworth Common, and decided to hire me for the catering.
The evening was a great success with all guests thoroughly enjoying the dishes I had prepared, which were :
Confit of Salmon with Green Pea Cream
Pan Fried Foie Gras with a Rich Onion grape jus
Chicken Fricassee with Seasonal vegetables
Eton Mess

Diemersfontein Pinotage 2008
Posted on May 16th, 2009 No comments
The Diemersfontein Pinotage is know as “The people’s Pinotage”It is praised for its easy accessibility, its uniqueness, its wonderful rich coffee, smokey overtones on the nose – and yet the preservation of voluptuous fruit on the palate, along with spicey, cinnamon and chocolatey notes on the palate.
This wine does exactly what it says on the label, it befriends, it seduces and it converts. Many people have told Diemersfontein that they have shown them for the first time how Wonderful Pinotage can be.
I bought the Diemersfontein Pinotage from Waitrose for £7.59 but you can get a case of 12 for £91.08, which I recommend, as once you have had your first sip you will be in love with this Pinotage for ever.
